For the first time, an exhibition presents antique quilts made by the Amish and contrasts them with art objects from the 1960s whose joining link is abstaction and colour.
With their uncluttered geometry, large areas of colour and strict composition, Amish quilts are surprisingly close to Concrete Art, Minimal Art and OpArt of the 1960s.
Quilt around the World will organize a day trip from Munich on 9 October 2011.
