The Hortus Conclusus quilt is a medallion style quilt with a traditional centre block motif called “The Castle Garden” surrounded by seven borders pieced from half-square triangles alternating with strip borders made up of fabric stripes of different widths..

Firmament

The design for the Firmament quilt was created during a particularly boring meeting at one of our former employers which, as usual, didn’t have any useful outcome. Except of course the Firmament blocks and quilt setting!

The quilt block and the quilt are wonderful for using up a huge quantity of scraps. This version of the quilt uses up a total of 1,288 multicoloured half square triangles, 912 background half square triangles and 240 half square triangles and 148 squares in black... (12 June 2011)

SommerSonnenStrahlen

The SommerSonnenStrahlen quilt (“Summer Sunbeams”) was inspired by the colours very often associated with summer: blue for the sky and perhaps also for the sea and yellow for the sun. This is such a happy combination that it rarely fails to attract dreamy gazes and closer scrutiny... (24 May 2011)

Most books can be found in the projects section, but most articles in the technique section are also organized as books.) and you’ll know that we are really passionate about really small shapes cut from leftovers “normal” people would probably throw away...
