Water for the World: Nile

The Nile in Africa is the longest river in the world, with a length of 6,852 km. It is formed by two major spring rivers, the White Nile (Sudan and Ethiopia) and the Blue Nile, a very watery inlet from the Ethiopian Highlands. North of Khartoum, both rivers join and flow through Egypt to the mouth in the Mediterranean Sea north of Cairo.
