I was born in Valparaíso in Chile and although I live in Buenos Aires in Argentina now, the beautiful port of Valparaíso was the inspiration for my block.

While designing the block, I brought back to my memory everything which is so special about this city where I was born and grew up: the daily climb up the mountains, the sea views, the ships passing by and the fascination of the architecture and colors; the happiness that I could study design in this environment of infinite inspiration ... the kindness, the pure life. Maybe this is where my love for patchwork comes from and from the many small colorful pieces. You simply can’t get this landscape and its colors out of your mind and want to return a thousand times again.

Valparaíso, capital of the province of Valparaiso, was built in a beautiful bay and surrounded by 43 mountains. The city was never officially founded, but was appointed by the Spaniards in the 16th century (1552). It has a very unusual architecture, which is different from that of other cities in Chile and the world. It is a city that is inhabited from the shoreline up to the mountains.

The unique shape, the color-painted buildings and original elevators that have been in operation for more than a century and have been appointed as national monuments, the architecture, the landscapes, the gastronomy and the citizens make this town a World Heritage Site .... an unforgettable place!
