Quilt around the World will publish an inspirational photograph each week from 10 January 2015 until 19 December 2015.....
On 20 July 2020, we opened our second virtual exhibition, the 50pictures Retrospective.
These quilts represent a selection of the 120 quilts resulting from our online activity "50pictures" which we organized in 2016. Just as for our current activity "archiTEXTure", we published an inspirational photo every week and invited quilters from around the world to interpret these photos freely.
Having already exhibited at Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe several times, we were of course quite excited about the premiere of Nadelwelt in Friedrichshafen on the shores of Lake Constance, where we presented selected mini quilts from our participants in the 50pictures project...
Isn't it incredible how quickly time flies? Since 19 December 2015, all 50 photos for 50pictures have been online...
For the last photo of our 50pictures series we chose some festive ornaments in red. Red is a warm color, it means energy and heartiness, and stands for life...

The picture shows a part of the medieval fortivications of the town of Dinkelsbuehl in Germany. The impressive wall is very well preserved and used to protect the town from the early 12th century when it was founded.
To this day, Dinkelsbuehl has one of the most complete building complex dating from the late Middle Ages which makes it a favourite tourist destination.
We have included this picture because of the reflections of the buildings in the calm waters of the moat - a perfect source of inspiration for anything that creates a reflection...
