Mediterranean Village #archiTEXTure #inspiration #quilt #patchwork #textileart

This is inspirational photo #48 of our archiTEXTure Challenge:

This multilayered view of typical mediterranean houses boxed together and joined by several small squares and flights of stairs offers lots of angles for an artistic interpretation. This is inspirational photo #47 of our archiTEXTure Challenge:

This photo shows a row of Azulejos, handpainted and glazed ceramic tiles. On the Iberian Peninsula, they are a legacy of the Moors, who dominated large parts of Spain and Portugal from the 8th century. These weatherproof tiles are used on public monuments and buildings, house façades and churches, but also on interior walls to create artistic murals.

Timber Frame #archiTEXTure #patchwork #quilting #textileart

This is inspirational photo #46 of our archiTEXTure Challenge:

This timber frame building is located in Stratford upon Avon where you
can walk the streets searching for the spirit of England‘s greatest bard. Did
the texture and the contrast created by the black beams and the white
plaster help to inspire him to create his dramas, plays and poetry? Or is this
source of inspiration reserved to us visual artists?
