Erika's Quilt

Another beautiful 3 by 4 layout, this time from Switzerland! For Erika, our first International Block Swap was the first such activity and she felt overwhelmed by the many countries the participating quilters come from. When her block package arrived in April, for Erika, it was like another Christmas - with blocks from the USA to New Zealand..

Kris' Quilt

Kris' Quilt

Kris from the Netherlands set her blocks in a 3 by 4 layout as well, added very dark sashings to make the colours really stand out, and embroidered all the quilters' names and their countries into the dark stripes...

Christina W's Quilt

Christina W's Quilt

Christina chose an extravagant setting with the 12 blocks forming a cross and tapering bottom edge

Barbara's Quilt

Barbara's Quilt

Barbara chose a 3x4 layout for her IBS quilt and balanced all the red with blue sashings and a very interesting white and blue border solution...

Katrin's Quilt

Katrin's Quilt

Together with the picture of her (not yet entirely finished) IBS quilt, Katrin sent us a long, long e-mail and told as the riveting story of her work. She asked us to publish a summary of this story:

Maria L's Quilt

Maria L's Quilt

Maria set her IBS blocks on point, added a block with an appliqued globe to be placed in the very centre of the quilt and framed everything, the blocks and the entire quilt with green fabrics. The result is fabulous!

Jarmila's Quilt

Jarmila's Quilt

Jarmila from Slovakia added a large Mariner's Compass as central motif and created a beautiful medallion quilt with the blocks of her IBS team as a frame...

IBS Friendships: Juliane and Kris

IBS

We have to admit that we did hope that our First International Block Swap would help to also forge some friendships. So you can imagine that we were very happy to hear...

Yukiko's Wallhanging

Yukiko's Wallhanging

Yukiko from Japan decided that she would rather adorn her walls with her IBS blocks than make them into a quilt. What a great idea! And what a brilliant idea to group them together to represent the four seasons!

Brigitte L's Quilt

Brigitte L's Quilt

Brigitte belongs to a very creative team - after Elke and Brunhilde, she is the third from this team to send us a picture of her quilt! And they seemed to work in sync without knowing it - we received their e-mails within a few days.

Brigitte chose a 3x4 layout for her quilt and framed each block in a beautiful green which again is set off by red and white corner sashing squares and red and green borders. As you can see in the picture, it is a fairly large quilt which will keep Brigitte and her husband warm during the Swiss winter.
