User name of the quilter: Selun

Name of the exercise: De(con)struction

What Selun says about week 8:

This week's task was really difficult for me. I dislike making sketches and I didn't want to use my least liked materials metal and plastic either. So I chewed over the issue until I suddenly had an idea:

Why not just cut up and resew some blocks instead of a sketch?

My spontaneous ideas tend to produce orphan blocks now and then. I rarely throw anything away. So I found two really ugly blocks made from equally ugly fabrics.

I grabbed the rotarry cutter and made two cuts.

I joined the pieces.

Not enough, another cut.

I framed everything with some strips left over from a recently finished large quilt.

Now we are talking! Recycling in its purest form!!!

I would never have had this idea but for exercise 8. I am looking forward to week 9.
