About:

St Fagans is a wonderful open-air museum located in Cardiff in Wales. It was built on the grounds of St Fagans Castle, a late 16th-century manor house donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth, and opened to the public in 1948.

Why should a quilter go to St Fagans? Because the museum has a large collection of textiles and especially Welsh quilts. Currently (as of December 2015) the galleries are closed due to a redevelopment project. They will probably re-open in 2016. Groups might be allowed to go behind the scenes into the textile archives. Please contact the museum a few weeks before your visit.
