Where do you come from - 3rd Sewing Session

Where do you come from - 3rd Sewing Session

Again, we (for the first time all four of us - Anke, Derry, Johann and Jutta) met on Monday evening to continue putting together the wonderful Where do you come from blocks.

The first panel consisting of 16 quilts from Argentina, France, Germany, the UK, Mexico, Hungary, Finland and Brazil is pieced together and waits until the team agrees on giving green light for quilting. We plan to handquilt each section and then sew them together with the "Quilt as you go" method. However, we don't want to start sandwiching and quilting the individual sections unless we are 100% sure that the adjacend sections will really match at the edges!

Finding sashing fabrics for the second panel proved to be slightly more time-consuming and difficult, perhaps because the colour transitions have become a bit more challenging. See for yourself which fabrics we have "auditioned" so far for being joined next Monday (12 October):

This second panel will contain blocks from Spain, the Ukraine, Austria, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Spain, France, Russia, Indonesia and Poland. The blocks already joined on the left is a part of the first panel folded lenghtwise. And the three blocks at the bottom (from Portugal, the UK and Germany are just there for reference as they will belong to another section.
