What do you think about deadlines in quilting?

I need deadlines to get going. If there is no external deadline, I set one myself.

With the International Block Swap, we have started our first project which involves not only us, but also you, our members. As with most other group projects, it was necessary to set a deadline which today seems to be very far away in the future.

However, twelve blocks don’t sew themselves and therefore, 31 March 2012 will be here sooner than we think.

What do you think about deadlines in quilting? Do they inspire you and fire your productivity? Or do they intimidate you, block your flow of ideas and make you feel like the proverbial rabbit facing the serpent?
